How to use acids at home without causing harm
Home peels differ from professional salon treatments in concentration and pH—they are milder and designed for regular rather than spot application. Basic rules: use one acid at a time, introduce it 2–3 times a week in the evening, and always wear sunscreen in the morning. Exfoliating without sun protection is the fastest path to hyperpigmentation.
Do not combine retinol with strong AHA acids in the same routine—if you want to use both, separate them into different days. For sensitive skin, start with the Malto or Lacto line before moving on to stronger ones. 15–30 ml travel sizes are a great way to test your tolerance before purchasing full-sized products.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Peel Mission peels be used in the summer? Home peels can, provided you consistently use SPF 30–50 protection. Stronger salon treatments are usually scheduled outside the peak sun season.
Which acid for rosacea? Azelaic acid from the Aza line—it is best tolerated for redness and dilated capillaries.
Does the skin have to peel after a peel? No. Visible flaking is not a measure of effectiveness—a well-chosen home peel usually works without this effect.
