How does it work?
DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is a substance naturally derived from plants that reacts with amino acids in the skin to create a brown tint — visually identical to a sun tan. It does not penetrate living cells — it only works on dead skin cells.
Safety: DHA is approved by the FDA, EMA, and recognized as safe for external use. It is not radioactive and does not damage DNA. The only "risk" is an orange color with a poor tone choice — that’s why professional shade selection is important.
What does the treatment look like?
Preparation (the day before the treatment):
- Full body exfoliation — removing dead skin ensures an even effect
- Hair removal if planned — at least 24 hours before tanning
- No moisturizers, deodorants, oils on the day of the treatment
Treatment at J'ADORE:
- Gentle application with a spray tan — the technician applies the tan evenly
- Special attention to feet, elbows, knees — natural areas of DHA accumulation
- Drying time — 5–10 minutes
After the treatment:
- Do not wash your body for 6–8 hours (allow DHA to react)
- Loose clothing for the first night (may stain light bedding — easily washable)
- After the first wash — effect visible and stable
Duration: 15–20 minutes of treatment.
Effect lasts: 7–10 days (depends on the skin's exfoliation rhythm).
Shades — not just one color
At J'ADORE, various intensities are available:
- Shade: Light — For whom: Light complexion, first try — Effect: Subtle, natural, "as if you just returned from the weekend"
- Shade: Medium — For whom: Medium complexion, summer in Poland — Effect: Visible tan, healthy glow
- Shade: Dark — For whom: Dark complexion or event (wedding, photoshoot) — Effect: Distinct beach tan
The technician will help choose the shade for your complexion.
Spray tanning before important events
Spray tanning is ideal as preparation for:
- Wedding (own or as a guest)
- Prom
- Photoshoot
- Vacation — effect "as if just arrived"
- Party, event
Important: The treatment is recommended 48–24 hours before the event, not the evening before (the skin needs time).
Home self-tanners vs. spray tanning
- Effect — Uneven, possible streaks — Even — technician applies professionally
- Time — 1–2 hours — 15–20 minutes
- Durability — 5–7 days — 7–10 days
- Color — Depends on the product — Professionally matched shade
- Risk of streaks — High — Minimal (technician's hands)
Who is it particularly recommended for?
✅ People with skin types I and II — do not tan in the sun but want the effect
✅ People with discolorations or melasma — sun is prohibited
✅ People after photo-sensitizing treatments (acids, lasers, retinol) — cannot use the sun
✅ People at risk of skin cancer or after dermatological advice to avoid UV
✅ Seniors and people with sensitive skin — safe without restrictions
