Choose your shampoo based on your scalp type, not hair length — this is the golden rule to avoid most common mistakes. Shampoo stays on your hair for only a few dozen seconds, and its primary task is to cleanse the scalp, not to nourish the ends. In this category, we offer professional and trichological shampoos.
Types of shampoos
- Balancing — for oily hair; formulated with zinc, salicylic acid, or azelaic acid.
- Anti-dandruff — with zinc pyrithione, ketoconazole, or sulfur; used as a treatment for several weeks.
- Anti-hair loss — supportive, but always used in combination with a lotion or ampoule applied to the scalp.
- Moisturizing and repairing — for dry and damaged hair; featuring mild cleansing bases.
- For color-treated hair — sulfate-free, color-protecting; separate purple shampoos to neutralize yellow tones for blondes.
- Deep cleansing — to be used every few washes when silicones, styling products, or minerals from hard water build up on the hair.
How to wash your hair correctly
Apply shampoo to the scalp, not the lengths — they will be cleansed during rinsing. Distribute with your fingertips, not your nails, and massage for a few seconds. For heavily soiled hair, wash twice: the first wash removes residue, the second actually treats the scalp.
Use lukewarm water, not hot. Apply conditioner only to the lengths and ends, avoiding the scalp — this is the most common cause of rapid oiliness at the roots.
Frequently asked questions
Are sulfate-free shampoos better? They are gentler and produce less lather. For sensitive scalps and color-treated hair — yes. For severe seborrhea, a classic cleansing base can be more effective.
Can anti-dandruff shampoo be used permanently? It is usually used as a treatment, then switched to a maintenance routine of 1–2 times a week.
Why does my hair get oily faster after changing shampoo? This is usually a transition period after stopping silicones. If it persists for more than a few weeks, the shampoo is likely not a good fit.
