Electrocoagulation

Electrocoagulation

Electrocoagulation is a procedure used in cosmetology and aesthetic dermatology, involving the targeted application of high-frequency electric current. The procedure allows for the precise treatment of selected skin lesions without affecting the surrounding tissue.

What is electrocoagulation?

Electrocoagulation involves the controlled application of electrical energy, which causes the coagulation (denaturation) of proteins within the treated lesion. This enables its reduction or removal in a precise and safe manner, following a prior assessment by a specialist.

How does the electrocoagulation procedure work?

  • precise, targeted action – energy is focused exclusively on the lesion
  • minimal interference with the surrounding skin
  • controlled damage that triggers the natural healing process
  • versatility for use on various body areas

Who is it for? / Indications

  • minor aesthetic skin lesions (subject to qualification)
  • soft fibromas
  • milia
  • seborrheic keratosis (subject to qualification)
  • cherry angiomas
  • individual small capillaries

Treatment areas

  • face
  • neck
  • décolleté
  • back
  • underarm area
  • other areas subject to qualification

What does the visit look like step-by-step?

  • consultation and qualification of the lesion for the procedure
  • skin disinfection
  • local anesthesia (if indicated)
  • targeted electrocoagulation performance
  • protection of the treatment site and post-procedure recommendations

Results and the healing process

Immediately after the procedure, redness and slight swelling may occur. A small scab forms at the treatment site, which falls off naturally within several days to two weeks. Once fully healed, the skin gradually regains a uniform appearance.

How many treatments?

In many cases, 1 treatment is sufficient. Depending on the type and size of the lesion, a follow-up session may be scheduled.

Contraindications

  • pregnancy
  • active skin infections
  • cancer
  • blood clotting disorders
  • pacemaker or electronic implants
  • other contraindications identified during the medical history interview

Post-treatment recommendations

  • do not pick at scabs
  • use SPF 50 sun protection
  • avoid saunas, swimming pools, and intense physical activity for several days
  • use regenerative products as recommended
