How to use Moroccanoil Treatment

The most common mistake is applying too much product or applying it too close to the scalp, which can weigh the hair down. The rule is simple: one to two pumps on damp, mid-length hair, distributed from mid-lengths to ends before blow-drying. For fine or light-colored hair, choose the Light version, which features a lighter formula and a paler hue.

The oil can also be used on dry hair as a finishing touch—simply warm a small amount in your palms first. The Treatment also provides thermal protection, though for daily straightening, we recommend adding Perfect Defense.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Treatment and Treatment Light? Consistency and pigment. The Light version is lighter and does not darken light-colored hair.

Do color-depositing masks permanently dye the hair? No. The pigment sits on the surface and washes out after a few shampoos—it is a way to refresh your shade, not a permanent color treatment.

Are the products sulfate-free? The Color Care, Curl, and Blonde Perfecting lines are sulfate-free. The Clarifying Shampoo is intentionally not—it is designed for deep cleansing.
