AZELAC Emulsion 100 ml Sesderma
Azelac — gel
Prevents back acne and skin breakouts.
This is a gel from the Azelac line by the Spanish brand Sesderma, which has based its formulas on liposomal technology for years: active ingredients are encapsulated in microscopic phospholipid vesicles, allowing them to penetrate deeper and release gradually rather than acting aggressively from the very first minute.
The packaging contains 100 ml. Indications: acne and imperfections.
Three problems, one ingredient
Azelaic acid is a unique ingredient in dermatology because it simultaneously addresses three issues that usually require three different preparations: redness, imperfections, and discoloration. It does so gently, which is why the Azelac line is well-tolerated by sensitive and vascular skin that struggles with traditional exfoliating acids.
- —Erythema reduction. It has anti-inflammatory properties, soothing redness and the sensation of a "hot face".
- —Keratinization normalization. It regulates the exfoliation process in the follicular openings, reducing the tendency for blackheads.
- —Brightening. It inhibits excessive melanin production in areas where inflammation has occurred.
- —Microflora calming. It limits the growth of bacteria that contribute to the formation of imperfections.
What's inside
Naturally occurring in grains. In cosmetics, it is valued for combining anti-inflammatory, normalizing, and brightening effects without drying out the skin.
Sesderma encapsulates azelaic acid in liposomes, allowing it to penetrate gradually without causing the stinging typical of high concentrations in traditional bases.
They complement the formula with soothing properties, ensuring the treatment is also suitable for reactive skin.
How to use — gel
1. Apply a thin layer to cleansed skin.
2. Spread gently, patting until absorbed.
3. Use morning and evening, unless the packaging indicates otherwise.
4. In the morning, finish the ritual with an SPF 50 sunscreen.
Who is the Azelac line for
Azelac is designed for skin that reacts with redness and also has imperfections or post-acne marks. This is a very common combination that is difficult to manage with a single product.
- —Vascular and redness-prone skin. Reacts with flushing to temperature, stress, and skincare products.
- —Skin with imperfections. Blackheads, papules, oily T-zone.
- —Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Dark marks that remain after a breakout for weeks or months.
- —Skin that does not tolerate acids. Stings and becomes irritated after traditional exfoliation.
Questions and Answers
Azelac is the core line featuring azelaic acid. Azelac RU is an enhanced version with a depigmenting complex — it is the preferred choice when hyperpigmentation is the primary concern, rather than just redness.
In liposomal form, rarely. At the start of the treatment, you may experience a mild warming sensation — this usually subsides after a few days. Start by applying it every other evening.
Yes. Azelaic acid does not sensitize the skin to the sun like AHA acids do. However, SPF is still mandatory if you are targeting hyperpigmentation.
For redness and imperfections, results are often visible after one month. Hyperpigmentation requires patience — at least three months.
