MECHANISM OF ACTION

Azelaic acid supported by silver

The heart of the formula is azelaic acid, valued for its antibacterial properties — it limits the growth of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria responsible for acne lesions — and for reducing micro-comedones by normalizing the keratinization process and inhibiting excessive keratinization of the epidermis. Its action is enhanced by the addition of silver, known as a "natural antibiotic."
