The toner from the home line Peel Mission is built around shikimic acid — an active ingredient with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and sebum-regulating properties. The name refers to the Japanese word "shikimi" (star anise), from which this substance was first isolated.

It reflects the philosophy of the entire Peel Mission toner line, where each product is built around a different acid tailored to a specific skin problem. This variant was created for dehydrated and sensitive skin, prone to acne.

Shikimic acid inhibits the growth of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria responsible for acne, helps to unblock clogged sebaceous gland openings, and reduces the number of inflammatory papules while improving skin hydration.
