Mandelac — liposomal serum

Sesderma's MANDELAC Liposomal Serum is based on mandelic acid — a gentle alpha-hydroxy acid that is a good alternative to glycolic acid for sensitive skin. Encapsulating the ingredients in liposomes allows them to penetrate deep into the skin, where they act in multiple ways: they help regulate sebum secretion, gently smooth, even out skin tone and support the reduction of discolorations. This is a proposition for skin with imperfections, discolorations and the first signs of aging.

This is a liposomal serum from the Mandelac line — a Spanish brand Sesderma, which for years has based its formulas on liposomal technology: it encloses active ingredients in microscopic phospholipid vesicles, thanks to which they reach deeper and are released gradually, instead of acting abruptly from the first minute.

Key active ingredients in this formula: glycolic acid. Indications: acne and imperfections, hyperpigmentation, anti-age, soothing/sensitivity.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

The gentlest acid with a large molecule

Mandelic acid has a molecule distinctly larger than glycolic acid — it penetrates more slowly and more shallowly, which means a significantly lower risk of irritation. That is why it is the acid of first choice for sensitive skin, for couperose skin and for everyone who wants to exfoliate all year round, including in summer.

  • —Gentle exfoliation. Smooths the epidermis without a harsh reaction and without visible peeling.
  • —Antibacterial action. Mandelic acid limits the growth of bacteria that promote imperfections.
  • —Work on skin tone. Brightens superficial hyperpigmentation, including post-acne marks.
  • —Safety in summer. Does not sensitize the skin to the sun as strongly as glycolic acid.

RITUAL

How to use — liposomal serum

1. Apply to cleansed, dry facial skin — the serum is applied as the first product after washing.

2. Spread a few drops with your fingertips, gently patting in. Don't skip the neck and décolletage.

3. Wait a moment for the serum to absorb before applying the cream.

4. Finish with a moisturizing cream, and in the morning with SPF 50 sunscreen.

Who is the Mandelac line for

Mandelac is an acid for people who would like to exfoliate but are afraid of their skin's reaction — or have already found that stronger acids are too harsh for them.

  • —Sensitive and reactive skin. Reacts with a burning sensation to most active preparations.
  • —Couperose skin. With a tendency to redness, for which glycolic acid can be too irritating.
  • —Skin with imperfections. Blackheads and papules accompanied by inflammation.
  • —First acid treatment. A safe introduction to the world of chemical exfoliation.

Questions and answers

How does it differ from glycolic acid?

By particle size. The mandelic one is larger, so it penetrates more slowly and less deeply — it acts more gently, but also more slowly. If your skin tolerates glycolic poorly, this is the right choice.

Can I use it in summer?

Yes — that is its greatest advantage. SPF 50 is still required, but the risk of sun-induced hyperpigmentation is clearly lower.

Is it suitable for acne?

Yes, thanks to its antibacterial and normalizing action. For intensified inflammatory lesions, consult the treatment with a specialist.

How often to use?

Start with every other evening. With good tolerance, you can move on to daily use.
